    Clearance Requirements for Donegal School District Staff

    All Donegal School District staff are required to obtain and renew the following clearances every five (5) years to maintain compliance with Pennsylvania law. If you serve as both a staff member and a volunteer, only the staff (employment) clearances are needed, as these supersede any volunteer clearances.

    1) FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114) – Renewal

    All staff members must renew their FBI Fingerprint Clearance every five years through IdentoGO.

    • Fee: $26.60 (subject to change; please check the IdentoGO website for the latest fee).
    • Registration: You will need an email address to register online. The applicant must register prior to going to the fingerprint site. To register, \CLICK HERE!\ Look for "Schedule or Manage Appointment" to move through the process.
    • Procedure: During the registration process, all demographic data for the applicant is collected so there is no data entry required at the fingerprint site. You will choose a specific fingerprint site and then schedule a time. You will also pay for the clearance at the fingerprint site (with either a credit card or money order). No cash or check will be accepted. Make sure you take the form of identification that you picked during the on-line enrollment process with you to the fingerprint site.
    • Results: After the fingerprinting is completed, the applicant will be given a receipt that includes the Universal Enrollment ID (UEID). You will give the UEID # to the District. The district will then access the website to determine if the fingerprinted individual is cleared to work in the school district. You will also receive an unofficial copy of your FBI clearance from the PA Department of Education.

    2) Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) – Renewal

    The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance must also be renewed every five years.

    • Fee: $13.00
    • Online Submission: Once you enter the link below you will be directed to the \Child Welfare Portal\ where you must create an account or log in if you already have an account (must choose for employment purposes). Note: You will need an email address to create an account. The District cannot access your record.

    3) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34) – Renewal

    Staff members are required to renew this clearance every five years.

    • Fee: $22.00
    • Online Submission: Complete the application and print the results from the \PA State Police \.
    • This provides an instant response to the applicant. \You must choose for employment purposes.\ The individual will need to print out the results page as proof of having completed the clearance. The district cannot access your record.

    How are candidate interviews handled? Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by a representative of the school district. The initial interview will be conducted by a group of staff, including at least one building principal. The candidates will be expected to teach a portion of a lesson in their area of certification as part of the second interview.

    What happens after the final round of interviews? At the completion of all interviews, the interview team will make an employment recommendation to the superintendent. References will be checked and results will be documented.

    The successful candidate will be contacted and an employment offer will be made, pending School Board approval. The candidate's name will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval. We encourage you to attend the School Board meeting to be introduced to our Board of Directors!

    Following Board approval, an appointment is established for completion of a pre-employment packet. All appointments are contingent upon receipt of all necessary pre-employment forms, including certification, state-mandated physical examinations, TB test and clearances, etc.
